Product Introduction
The flexible module replaces glass and aluminium with an ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene) front surface laminated onto a flexible polymer backing. There is no frame and no rigid glass, so the panel bends to roughly 30° of curvature and weighs a fraction of a conventional module — 200 W comes in at about 3.2 kg versus 21 kg for a framed panel of similar output.
ETFE is the key material choice. Compared with the cheaper PET used on entry-level flexible panels, ETFE has a self-cleaning micro-textured surface, far higher UV stability and light transmittance above 95%, which is why it holds output for years instead of yellowing and delaminating after a season or two in strong sun.
Mounting is adhesive, eyelet or hook-and-loop rather than clamped rails, so the panel can follow the curved roof of a motorhome, the deck of a yacht or a tent canopy. One design caution: without an air gap the panel runs hotter than a framed module, so leave ventilation behind it where the surface allows, and expect somewhat lower efficiency per square metre than rigid glass panels.
Main Features
- ETFE front surface: >95% light transmittance, self-cleaning micro-texture, excellent long-term UV and weather stability.
- Bends to approximately 30° curvature — mounts on curved RV roofs, boat decks, tents and irregular surfaces.
- Extremely light and thin: about 80% lighter than a framed glass module, ideal where roof load capacity is limited.
- Frameless and glass-free, so there is nothing to shatter — safe for mobile and marine use.
- Flexible mounting: adhesive bonding, brass eyelets or hook-and-loop, with no rails or roof penetrations needed.
- IP67 junction box with MC4 output; salt-spray resistant for marine environments.
