Product Introduction
This module uses proven P-type monocrystalline PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) technology on 182mm wafers, configured as 144 half-cut cells. PERC adds a dielectric passivation layer on the rear of the cell that reflects unabsorbed long-wavelength light back into the silicon, lifting efficiency by roughly one percentage point over standard Al-BSF cells.
PERC is the most mature and highest-volume PV cell platform in the world, and that maturity is exactly its commercial advantage: the lowest cost per watt, the widest inverter compatibility, and supply availability that N-type lines cannot always match on short lead times.
The trade-off versus N-type TOPCon is honest and worth stating: a −0.35 %/°C temperature coefficient instead of −0.30, a 25-year power warranty instead of 30, and a 2% first-year degradation instead of 1%. Where budget drives the decision and the site is not extremely hot, PERC remains the rational choice.
